My heart goes out to all the healthcare workers and everyone who is working hard on the frontlines during this difficult time. It is some crazy times around the world right now. I never thought that I would ever need to stay home for an indefinite amount of time, be laid off work, seeing cities around the world being on lockdown, and having to be wary of being near other people. This has made me realize how much of the little things we take for granted.
If you're like me and the boredom of social distancing is getting to you, I would suggest doing some good o' baking. It's such a fun way to pass the time and can be a good family bonding activity. Plus, you get to eat what you make, how great is that!
I've compiled a list of 5 desserts that I think you should try making during this time of social distancing.
5. Earl Grey Shortbread
Shortbreads are my favourite type of cookies! The rich buttery taste and crumbly texture goes so well with tea, and is a perfect snack for when you're stuck at home in front of the television. I love tea flavoured pastries, particularly earl grey, so I decided to include these on the list! Shortbreads are super easy and quick to make, and you can spice them up by adding any flavours you like. Just butter, sugar, salt, flour, and your desired flavour, which in my case, earl grey tea leaves!
4. Cookie Milk Shots
How cute are these cookie shots?!
These are such cute cookies to make for fun with the family! Turning cookies into cups, you can fill it up with milk, your favourite juice, or even a cocktail because any hour can be happy hour;) Just make sure to seal the inside with chocolate so the liquid won't leak out the cracks! Finish them off with paper straws and gold powder!
3. Parfait-like Treat
Have leftover scraps from previous baking sessions? You can use them to create a little parfait-like treat inside a mason jar, this way you can enjoy it anywhere in your house! Maybe even during a self-pampering bubble bath session because.... why not??
I used leftover pumpkin cake that I had, soaked it with some bourbon syrup, and poured raspberry mousse on top, finished with whipped cream.
2. Sugar Cookies
Another great way to past the time is by doing some sugar cookies! These guys are so time consuming, depending on how detailed you want to get with the decoration, and can really get you immerse in your creative side. It's also a super fun activity to do with your young kids or make it a competition between your loved ones.

1. Tiramisu Crepe Cake
Lastly, the Tiramisu Crepe Cake! I loveeeee this recipe and really recommend that you try it. It's soft, chewy, smooth, and o so chocolatey. This Tiramisu Crepe Cake is basically a combination of my two favourite things, crepes and tiramisu. It consists of coffee mascarpone mousse that is spread between layers of chocolate crepes, topped off with whipped cream and cocoa powder (It's not a tiramisu without the top layer of cocoa powder!) I used chocolate crepes and tiramisu filling for this, but you can tweak up the recipe to fit the different flavours of your choice.

Have fun baking!
